Paula S. Etting

Board of Town Commissioners
Title: Town Commissioner
Phone: 410-638-4550
Etting 150x200 (30)

As a 28-year resident of the Town of Bel Air, Paula S. Etting ran for Town Commissioner because she wants the Town to continue to be the safe and family friendly small town she chose to raise her family.

Paula was introduced to the Town of Bel Air in August 1973 when she started her freshman year at John Carroll. Bessie the cow still roamed the field on US Route 1 where the Bel Air Town Center now sits and the Harford Mall had just recently replaced the Bel Air Racetrack.

After graduating from John Carroll, Paula attended Johns Hopkins University where she graduated with both departmental and general honors. She received her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Paula has been an attorney in Maryland since 1985. She spent 3 years in the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office prosecuting crimes, including homicides.

Paula accepted a position with the Harford County Department of Law where for 27 years she provided advice and counsel to various County agencies. She also handled litigation of all types such as cases in the District and the Circuit Court, including jury trials, and appellate cases before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

Paula and her husband, Errol, still live in the house they moved to in the Town of Bel Air in 1993 to raise their 2 children.

Paula retired from the County as of October 1, 2016 and continues to live in Bel Air with her husband of over 40 years.

Paula currently serves as the Board of Commissioner’s liaison to the Bel Air Police Department, the Committee on the Elderly and Needy Citizens, and the Planning Commission.
