The annual Bel Air Kite Festival, a springtime tradition in this community going back to 2006, is happening Saturday, April 11, 2026. The rain date will be Sunday, April 12. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the athletic fields at Rockfield Park. Admission is free.
Free kites, provided by premier sponsor APG Federal Credit Union, will be given out while supplies last. We also will have food trucks, music by the Wings Over Washington Kite Club, and fun for the whole family. Parking will be available at public lots in Rockfield Park, accessible from Route 22, and at a designated section of The John Carroll School lots across from the Rockfield Park playground.
Festival-goers also can park in the public garage on Hickory Avenue and take a free shuttle to and from the event. Click on the parking map with this story for more information.
Follow the Kite Festival event on Facebook for updates. We hope to see you at the park!
